Kapiri Mposhi, December 31, 2019, ZANIS—A 14-year-old girl has allegedly been defiled by two men in Kapiri Mposhi district.
And police have arrested the suspects in connection with the incident which happened on Saturday, 28th December, 2019 around 14:00 hours at Chisengaman’ga village in chief Mukonchi’s area.
The girl, a grade eight pupil at Chisengaman’ga basic school, was reportedly defiled by the duo after they waylaid her in the nearby bush where they took turns in having canal knowledge of her.
Central Province Commissioner of Police, Chola Katanga has confirmed the incident to ZANIS today.
Mr Katanga said on the material day the victim was at her aunt’s place at the next village having her hair plaited when the two men came at the same place.
Mr Katanga said as the victim was heading back home after plaiting her hair the perpetrators followed her and dragged her in the nearby bush where they took turns in defiling her.
He said the mother to the victim reported the matter on behalf of the victim to the police yesterday.
The victim was issued with a medical report which revealed that she sustained injuries on her private parts from the ordeal.
Meanwhile, police have arrested the two suspects.
Mr Katanga has identified the suspects as Martin Sichali ,25, of Kawama compound and Brave Mwelwa, 24, of Chisengaman’ga area in Kapiri Mposhi district.
They will appear in court soon.
